A Tow Truck Driver operates a towing truck, a pony (horse and trailer), rollback truck or sling back truck, especially designed and equipped to move vehicles

Vehicles
•Collect Upliftment instructions from the Scheduler and verify the instructions, vehicle details, the address and routes
•Check the vehicle and complete the check list before loading the vehicle
•Manoeuvre trucks into loading or unloading positions
•Loading of vehicle and secure vehicle for transport

Documents
•Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete, accurate and signed by contact person and driver before leaving the address
•Perform basic truck Inspection on a daily basis to ensure that the truck is in a good running condition – complete the inspection sheet which must be handed back to the scheduler on a weekly basis
•Report Truck defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to management

Safety and Cleanliness
•The Driver must at all times adhere to the National Road Safety’s Rules and Regulations
•Ensure that the truck is always in a need clean condition and all upliftment equipment is in a good working condition

Internal customers
•Branch employees, inter-departments

External stakeholders
•Contractors, Clients/Customers

Academic Qualifications

•Matric Certificate
•Valid Driver’s License/PDP

Work Experience

•2-4 years previous experience as a Tow Truck Driver
•Driving long distance trips
•Experience loading and offloading of vehicles
•Experience driving a Car Carrier
