Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ in Midrand has an opportunity available for an Oncology Picker to join the team. The main purpose of this role will be to achieve operational excellence, within the Dis-Chem Oncology area. Ensure efficient and accurate picking of stock in line with company standard operational procedures

 

Minimum Requirements…

Essential:

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • 1 years relevant working experience

Advantageous:

  • Supply-Chain or Logistics Degree or Diploma
  • Demonstrate knowledge of relevant computer packages, SAP EWM, Microsoft – Word , Excel and outlook
  • Able to capture information and reports

Job Specification…

Picking:

  • Ensure orders are picked once an order is received via an arm-mount device.
  • Ensure that necessary crates are used, and rules are followed at all times, when receiving picking instructions
  • Ensure necessary standards of speed and accuracy are maintained, while picking.
  • Ensure all goods when picked are loaded into the system guided coloured HU or box.
  • Ensure that the completed order is dropped, off at the correct checking area or conveyor.
  • Don’t remove stock from the warehouse area, without proper documentation or the approval of the supervisor, manager or pharmacist.
  • Complete the daily machine checklist.
  • Ensure that specialized procedures and security measures are followed, when picking in areas, like fridge, food or surgical areas.
  • Ensure that the warehouse and storage areas space is used in an optimal manner.
  • Must be willing to be rotated to where needed and must be willing to perform any other functions within the department, should the need arise.

Customer Service:

  • Ensure compliance with high standards of accuracy to meet customer requirements.
  • Ensure efficient and timely picking, to ensure the on-time dispatch and delivery of customer orders.
  • Have effective and efficient relationships with internal customers to improve operating efficiencies.

Stock Security:

  • Report all damaged goods, variances and errors to supervisor or management.
  • Complete an administrative form and complete organisational formalities for damages / accidents that occurred while packing.
  • Mark and report any merchandise which is short dated or expired to the Inventory manager.
  • Apply a procedure of stock rotation when packing away stock (Earliest expiry date, to be picked first).
  • Apply a procedure of stock rotation when picking stock that expires (FEEFO – First Expiry First out).
  • Provide information for the completion of incident reports in relation to health and safety issued and any accidents
  • Be always security conscious and avoid theft or fraud.

Essential:

  • Knowledge of Distribution Centre, logistics and supply chain operations
  • Have knowledge of the business measures and targets, directly related to own role.
  • Works with colleagues as a team player in order to achieve operational goals and targets
  • Demonstrates a customer service mind set.
  • English – Read, write and speak well.
  • Ability to work under pressure and have good attention to detail
  • Deadline driven

  • Physical demands include walking and standing, climbing, kneeling, push and pull objects, lift and move objects , repetitive bending.
